I would love to invite you to attend my masters recital in Choral Conducting! I am so excited and I would be honored if you would join us. The recital is February 22, 2019, 8PM at Campbell United Methodist Church in Campbell, CA. The concert free, open to the public, and will be followed by a light reception. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
We will be performing selections by Hildegard von Bingen and Vittoria Aleotti, among others. This concert will feature over thirty singers and instrumentalists from the SJSU School of Music and Dance, including the SJSU Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
I am particularly excited about the centerpiece of our concert which will be performed in collaboration with SJSU’s own saxophone quartet, Zēlos Quartet. We will be performing the North American premier of Maarten De Splenter’s Pax Pro Patria for choir, saxophone quartet, piano, baritone, and boy soprano. This work was premiered in 2015 for the 100th anniversary of the writing of the WWI poem “In Flanders Fields” and reflects on the use of gas during the first World War. It’s serious subject matter and is an exciting opportunity to re-examine an old story through a new lens.
Thanks so much!
